What is Parole?

If the parole board member or hearings officer determines that a parole violation has occurred by a preponderance of the evidence, a recommendation is made to the parole board. Should the board come to the same conclusion, it can revoke parole and send the offender back to jail/prison or extend the parole period. Of course, should it be found that a parolee has not violated parole, he will be released.
