With fireworks seemingly going off for the entire month of July (and even later into Labor Day!) we wanted to take a few moments to remind our clients and friends about the many do’s and don’ts regarding firework safety in Michigan.
Remember that you should always:
- Follow manufacturer directions
- Keep fireworks out of the range of people and pets
- Light fireworks on your own property—it is illegal to light commercial fireworks on public property
- Spray fireworks with water after they’ve gone off to ensure no fires erupt
Please avoid the following:
- Make homemade fireworks
- Let young children play with or set off fireworks
- Point or light fireworks at people or pets.
- Never shoot off fireworks in a container that is glass or metal.
If you’ve been injured in a firework accident this fourth of July, give our
firm a call or schedule an appointment online for free.
