Sometimes when paternity isn’t established, the court will order the parties to engage in appropriate DNA testing. Some fathers refuse because they may think that if they refuse, they will be off the hook for paying child support because paternity won’t be determined. The court will enter an order requiring you to present yourself at a court recognized lab and do the appropriate testing.
