What Is Parental Alienation? [Video]

What Is Parental Alienation? – (248) 588-3333

Parental alienation comes about when one parent instead of working with the other parent to address custody & parenting time, does the opposite. Instead of working together, a parent will deliberately try to create a toxic environment and make the other parent look bad. For example, one parent will tell the child that the other parent is a liar, thief, bad person, mean, etc. This can also come in a much more subtle form. The subtle types of alienation may include the mother purposely scheduling family to come over during the father’s parenting time schedule. This puts the child in a tough situation as well. If this happens to you, contact an attorney so that the appropriate motions are filed to ensure this issue is handled correctly. If you have questions about this, contact our office today for more information.
