From a young age, Julia knew she was meant to be an attorney. The daughter of Albanian immigrants who grew up under a repressive communist regime, she was profoundly influenced by stories of her grandfather—unjustly prosecuted and imprisoned for his beliefs. That legacy of injustice ignited her passion to pursue law, not just as a career, but as a calling.

Julia became a lawyer because her parents grew up in Albania and her grandfather was falsely prosecuted & imprisoned because there was no justice system. In addition, not many Albanian women are lawyers and she wanted to show other Albanian women that they belong in the courtroom too.

Prior to law school, she was an intern for the Honorable Judge Aquilina at the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County.

Today, Julia brings that same passion to every client she represents. She is known for being both fiercely compassionate and relentlessly strong—an advocate who listens deeply, speaks boldly and fights hard.

Her practice spans family law, criminal defense, and probate, where she combines legal skills with empathy, knowing firsthand how personal and high-stakes these cases can be. As a mother—particularly a mother of young twins—she understands how deeply legal outcomes can affect the core of a family.

Early in her legal career, she experienced the profound loss of her brother. That heartbreak became a source of strength and drive—a reminder that life is short, and justice cannot wait. She channels that urgency and dedication into every case she handles.

Proudly Albanian and proudly a woman in a profession still dominated by men and non-Albanians, Julia stands as a voice for those who are often unheard. She hopes to inspire other women—especially Albanian women—to know that they, too, belong in the courtroom. Whether navigating the courtroom or guiding a grieving family through probate, she is steadfast in her mission: to bring dignity, fairness, and strength to those she serves.

When Julia isn’t in court, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, and going on vacations.
